Molly Houses in Hackney

  • Newington Green Meeting House 39A Newington Green London, England, N16 9PR United Kingdom (map)

In the 18th Century, a 'Molly House' was a gay/queer pub (the Royal Vauxhall Tavern or Glory of its day) but it was much more than this. It was a community space, a ceremonial space, a space for gender and sexual exploration and play and mischief, and a safe space as well.

Join queer performer, curator and activist Dan de la Motte for an exploration of these incredible spaces and their significance.

Tickets are £5.
